PhD Jewish Scholarships 2011,Denmark


One to two PhD mobility Jewish Scholarships at the Department of Physics and Chemistry are available as of 1 November 2010 or earlier.
Eligibility:
The mobility Jewish Scholarships may be sought by students, either with or without a previous Master’s degree, who wish to obtain a PhD degree, who have not taken their exams at the University of Southern Denmark, and who have agreed on a PhD project with a supervisor employed at the Department of Physics and Chemistry. Part-financed scholarships are also available if the supervisor (or student) is able to co-finance the scholarship. The PhD Jewish Scholarships programme at the Faculty of Science can be completed as a three-year study with a previous Master’s degree or as a four-year study without a previous Master’s degree. Applicants without a relevant Master’s degree must have passed a minimum of 240 ECTS-points (Bachelor’s degree plus one year (60 ECTS-points) of graduate study). The Department of Physics and Chemistry employs 36 tenure researchers covering a wide scientific area from physics to chemistry within which the department has several cross-disciplinary activities. Applications including project proposals within the above mentioned title formulated in cooperation with a supervisor from the department are welcome. The title Physics and Chemistry Complex systems is to be understood as areas of research where complexity demands an interdisciplinary approach. The Jewish Scholarships applications are evaluated based on a number of criteria including the quality of the applicant (publications, grades, references etc.) and the quality of the project considering the strategic research areas of the department.

Jewish Scholarships for Overseas Students,UK

There are three scholarships to students from abroad are available to international students at the University of York. The use of these grants is online and the registration form on the link for the scholarship, you are requesting. The deadline for applications received on 30th Be April 2011. Applications will not be considered. They pay tuition fees of overseas (non-EU students) are, or hold a conditional or unconditional offer for the start of the study in October 2011 you will be a full-time program in the study York University (ie not Hymsa or distance learning) . For applicants of all nationalities (except European Union) who want to study any subject (except students Hymsa) at all levels as a full-time student at the University of York. The scholarship is awarded to a third or a sixth of the study abroad fee assessed for each year of study successfully. This is a scholarship competition on academic merit and financial need. For students at York University Masters held in doctoral studies at the University of York. The scholarship is valued at £ 5,000 tuition deducted.

3 Gerda Henkel Jewish Scholarships in the History of Ideas, Germany

Scholarship Details:

In collaboration with the Gerda Henkel Foundation, the German Literature Archive Marbach, the Klassik Stiftung Weimar and the Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel have awarded the Gerda Henkel Scholarships in the History of Ideas three times since 2007.

Application Details:

Applications are invited from doctoral and post-doctoral researchers who are planning a history of ideas project based on the source material held at one or more of the three research institutions. The maximum bursary period is five months, and the grant amounts to 900 Euro per month for doctoral and 1500 Euro per month for post-doctoral candidates.

The International Doctoral Program Jewish Scholarships in Economics

Admission Requirements

  • Applicants, with no restriction on nationality, must hold a Master of Science (M.Sc.) or a Master of Arts (M.A.) or equivalent title.
  • Current undergraduate students who will be awarded such a degree before September 19, 2011, may also apply. In this case, a successful application will be conditional to the subsequent completion of the degree and the transmission to the School of adequate documentation, also in electronic form, no later than September 22, 2011.

Positions and grants

  • 5 positions with 5 fellowships (amounting to € 12.500 per year + free meals at school’s canteen + Campus facilities)
  • The School reserves the possibility of accepting up to a maximum of 2 further students without grant or other forms of financial support.

- Enclosures to the hard copy of the applications:

  1. the copy of a valid identity document. Non-UE applicants will have to provide a photocopy of their passport;
  2. two copies of their complete Curriculum Vitae et Studiorum covering scientific training, professional experiences, publications and all other information that might help in the evaluation of the candidate; please use the UE model.
  3. The academic record with the full list of courses and grades (in English, in French or Italian);
  4. one copy of the Master thesis, when applicable; two copies of its abstract in English or in French or in Italian, and a copy of any other publication that they deem suitable (works written in languages other than Italian, English, or French must be accompanied by a summary in one of the above languages);
  5. two copies of a Research Project, of no more than 2.000 words which describes the research activities that applicants would like to perform during the PhD course.
  6. at least two recommendation letters written by Faculty Members or other academics who have assessed and/or supervised the applicant’s work during his/her university studies, offering a comparative evaluation of the learning achievements, research potential, maturity, and professional inclinations of the candidate, and assessing whether the knowledge of the English language by the candidate is adequate to attend a post-graduate programme;
  7. a numbered list of the documents attached.
